On 09-20-2008 at the Trocadero in Philadelphia, PA Built To Spill played fan favorite “Car” as the last song of the encore only to find an awesome extended jam that included Dean Ween (of Ween) as well as Chris Kirkwood and Curt Kirkwood of The Meat Puppets.
Ween has a cult following that is extremely dedicated to all that is weird and psychedelic about Weens music. The band began in New Hope, PA which is only a short drive away from the venue. Needless to say then when Dean Ween stepped on stage in front of his hometown crowd the place erupted and lifted the evening to all new heights.
I thought the jam was good enough that it deserved its own set of photos. Not to mention that because of a mix up at the door, I was not able to take photos for the opening set of The Meat Puppets…….. As they say, sh*t happens.
