The Heavy Pets opened for Toubab Krewe at the Abbey Bar inside of Appalachian Brewing Company in Harrisburg, PA on 03-19-2010.  It was another night of intense music in front of a packed house at the Abbey Bar thanks to our friends at Greenbelt Events.

The Heavy Pets are one of the newer bands on the jam scene but don’t let their youth deter you, their music is well crafted with plenty of hooks and opportunities for improv.  In fact, their first album is a double-album loaded with adventurous songwriting; especially for a first album.  The music is reminiscent of Phish in that they are often quirky and memorable hooks and passages throughout their music.

Their live performance was very good, it was my first time seeing The Heavy Pets, and I know it will not be the last.  If you like Phish, you might like The Heavy Pets.  Go see them when they play in your area or at a festival you are attending.
