Gregg Allman and Friends drove into a very cold Harrisburg, PA on 01/09/2008 but that did little to keep this band from cooling down.   Opening for Gregg Allman and Friends was Gregg’s son’s band, Devon Allman’s Honeytribe and photos from their set can be found by clicking on the Bands tab at the top.

Gregg Allman kicked off the show with his solo career’s biggest hit “I’m No Angel” witch got people singing and tapping their feet from the start.  His take on Bob Dylan’s “Just like A Woman” was a great addition to the setlist.  It is a fail-proof formula: a heart wrenching Bob Dylan song turned blues ballad sung by Gregg Allman.  Gregg’s voice proved strong throughout the night despite him still getting over a cold.  You can tell that he really enjoys playing and singing the songs he wrote for his solo career, presumably because they have more meaning to him.

Gregg playing Harrisburg rounded out quite a six months for the Harrisburg area in relation to the Allman Brothers family.  I hope this is only the beginning of a long rotation throughout the area including:
